Dr Eliza Kania
Journal Manager and Research Impact Officer (Social Media)

Summary

Brand’s success is a combination of a thoughtful strategy, substantive analysis, and effective communications – this is what I believe and put into practice. I hold a PhD in Political Science and work as a research communications specialist at Brunel University London and for – one of the Political Studies Association’s flagship journals, published by Sage Publishing. I am a member of the Social Justice Research Group and Brunel Public Policy project.  My research interests cover new social movements and the process of precarisation of labour.

Responsibility

I am a communications and visual communications specialist, aiming at increasing the impact of data, initiatives and research. For over 10 years now, I have been designing communications strategies and contents (short articles, marketing content, thematic interviews, podcasts, research analyses, graphic content, publications’ layouts) for local projects, NGOs and international initiatives.

What gives my experience a unique shape is combining practical skills (including creating graphic content and animations – Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop; creating video materials – Adobe PremierePro, After Effects; preparing thematic podcasts: Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition; designing websites and blogs) with years of analytical and research experience (mainly: Adam Mickiewicz University, Brunel University London; cooperation with Stony Brook University).

I regularly update my knowledge on innovative digital communications: recently during the Digital Marketing Strategy course at the University of Arts London (March-June 2021). My research interests cover the dynamics of social movements, the process of precarisation of labour, and recently –  the social and political dimensions of brutalist architecture.
