Dr Mohamed Gaballa

Summary

Gaballa joined Brunel, in 2014, as the leader of the department\'s new Distance Learning programmes delivered alongside the current MA in Intelligence and Security Studies (Starting Autumn 2015). The programme will be delivered in conjunction with Brunel Centre for Intelligence and Security Studies (BCISS) that delivers the already highly successful, world-leading residential MA in Intelligence and Security Studies (MAISS)

Gaballa has been conducting security and political assessments for UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office and other organisations. He has been a regular participant – for 8 years – to international security meetings sponsored by US Department of Defence. While working on his Master’s and PhD at UCL, he contributed to UCL teaching on Risk and Contingency Planning and Quantitative Methods, and to EU research projects proposals. Also, he has been guest lecturer on intelligence analysis at UCL and Brunel.

During his academic and professional experience, Gaballa has developed extensive and diverse experience in the use of e-learning and distance learning techniques and simulations. He contributed to Top-table exercise on security issues, intelligence community simulations, and NASA Space mission simulation. He has been mentor to the Brunel Analytical Simulation Exercise (BASE).

He received several grants (175.000 GBP) from governmental and nongovernmental bodies in UK and elsewhere. His papers have appeared in NATO publication and elsewhere.

  • Several courses in Applied Intelligence (Mercyhurst College) Space Systems, Systems Integrity, System Design (UCL Centre for Systems Engineering), and Applied Decision Making (UCL Department Cognitive, Perceptual and Brain Sciences)
  • BSc Political Science (Cairo University, 2003)
