Tribal Scholarship Opportunities
All scholarships require:
- Full-Time Enrollment: Must be enrolled full-time in a degree program.
- Attendance at U of I Moscow Campus: Only applicable to students studying at the Moscow campus.
- GPA Requirement: Must meet the required GPA standard.
- Participation in INSTEP: Active involvement in the Indigenous Nations Scholar Training for Excellence Program (INSTEP) through the Native American Student Center.
- Benefit: Waives out-of-state tuition for full-time undergraduate students.
- Eligibility:
- Must reside outside of Idaho.
- Must be an enrolled member of one of the 11 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Tribes.
- Also available for students transferring from an accredited tribal college or university.
- Renewable: The award is renewable for students meeting criteria.
- Benefit: Covers the full cost of tuition.
- Eligibility:
- Must be an enrolled member of one of the five Idaho MOU tribes.
- Designed to honor U of I's acknowledgment of the Indigenous lands in Idaho.
- Indicate Your Tribe: Mention your tribal enrollment on your ¹û¶³´«Ã½Â鶹Éç application.
- Submit Documentation: Provide a copy of your tribal enrollment card to the Native American Student Center.

General Scholarship Process for Students
Application: No separate scholarship application is required for either new or returning students.
Steps to Qualify
- New students must apply for admission to U of I.
- All students (new and returning) must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by Feb. 15.
Priority Consideration
- Given to students with high financial need.
- Must demonstrate a history of academic excellence.
By meeting the FAFSA deadline, students are automatically considered for available scholarships.
