Coordination and Networks

As a national leader in collaborative interdisciplinary research focused on the development and application of social-ecological systems science, the CRC actively supports and develops national research coordination networks that leverage cooperative thinking. This is based on the idea that collective networks produce ideas, thinking, and outcomes that are greater than the sum of its parts.

The CRC is a founding member and contributor to the Network for and to the – both NSF-funded coordination networks. The CRC is also closely associated with NSF’s Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) with active leadership in the . Co-Director Lilian Alessa sits on the .

CRC Co-Directors have lead several national workshops funded by the NSF that have enhanced our understanding of social-ecological systems applications, approaches, methodologies and research:
