2021 MFA Exhibit

MFA Thesis Exhibition

April 9 – May 23, 2021

"Intervention" features the work of two graduating master's students from the College of Art and Architecture, Katrina Fekkes and Kelsey Grafton. Students' mediums include video, ceramics and multimedia sculptures.

Fekkes, who grew up outside of Spokane, Washington, creates autobiographical works in a wide range of media to create open narratives about struggles and triumphs found within ordinary life. She carves out relationship with her past through her work and discovers new grounds to build a sense of security — no matter how precarious.

Grafton, formerly Exhibit Coordinator at Lewis-Clark State College’s Center for Arts and History, is a native to the Lewis-Clark Valley. Her work weaves together ceramic, found objects and performance into allegories reflecting our interconnected relationship with natural resources. Trees and waters are personified to lend a kindred voice, in hopes that we might see ourselves tied to their fate.
