I hold a bachelor’s in agricultural engineering, majoring in animal sciences. Both my master’s and doctorate programs were focused on entomology. As a postdoctoral associate in ECOSUR (Mexico), I focused my research on insect conservation. Furthermore, I gained experience in field crops, IPM and Extension as a research associate at the University of Kentucky. I have received specialized training on the taxonomy of solitary bees and wasps, tachinid flies and ground beetles, and also gained skills in community ecology and data analysis. I have conducted research on different environments, e.g., deserts, tropical rainforests and agricultural landscapes. I have worked with interdisciplinary groups from different countries and taught graduate courses focused on statistics and ecology. My goals at the ¹û¶³´«Ã½Â鶹Éç are 1) to develop advances in entomological science that bring improvements to our society and 2) to assist farmers, stake holders, educators and general public through Extension activities.
