Albert is a weed scientist and extension specialist studying and disseminating information on best weed management practices in agronomic crops, mainly: sugarbeet, dry beans, corn and small grains.

- Identify weed-suppressive cover crops and determine the optimal seeding and termination timing to optimize the trade-off between improved weed control and potential for crop yield reductions
- Evaluate and assess the use of integrated weed management approaches (e.g. ) to reduce the selection of herbicide-resistant weeds
- Conduct research on plant growth regulators for weed seedhead suppression
- Develop a research and extension program in cooperation with growers, commodity groups, and research and extension faculty for sustainable weed management in crop production systems.
