Asma's research areas primarily revolve around Media Sociology and Media Ethics. Her research agenda is centered on disruption and innovation within the constantly evolving news and information landscape. Within this broad agenda, her work encompasses journalism, technology, ethics, and democracy. She delves into local news dynamics, innovative approaches to fulfilling community information needs, and organizational and managerial decision-making.
Asma hails from Bangladesh. She has extensive experience in national television, covering various issues, including politics and local and national elections. Additionally, she has worked at television stations OETA-Oklahoma and DW, Germany. Asma is a Fulbright Scholar under the US Department of State.
