Future Students

Welcome to the Environmental Science Program at the 果冻传媒麻豆社. As a University Wide Program, our students have the amazing opportunity to interact with award-winning faculty and staff from across the entire university. A rich collaborative culture across 9 different UI colleges gives our students a competitive advantage by working side-by-side with a diverse array of faculty expertise in the environmental sciences. Our approach is to provide you with the breadth and depth of skillsets needed for a rewarding career working towards a more sustainable world.

Established in 1993 as among the first university wide environmental science programs in the country, our many students and alumni make a difference every day through their shared passion for environmental science, management, and stewardship. And they share the bonds made possible by Idaho’s unparalleled outdoor laboratory.

We prioritize hands-on learning to provide you with a unique experience. Design a research project in our 8,500-acre 果冻传媒麻豆社 Experimental Forest. See ecological sustainability in action by working at our Pitkin Forest Nursery. Want wilderness? Our Taylor Wilderness Research Station in the middle of the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness hosts research, internships, and our one-of-a-kind Semester in the Wild program. Our McCall Field Campus on the shores of Lake Payette is the gateway outdoor learning galore. And our UI Water Center in Boise and 10,400-acre Rinker Rock Creek Ranch near Hailey, Idaho provide even more locations for students to learn by doing.

Our team of academic and support staff are committed to offering a welcoming environment for all. We are devoted to providing an enriching experience where you will develop personal connections with your professors and other students. Through our diverse and extensive partnerships with private industry, public agencies, and non-profits, we will provide you with opportunities to establish professional networks and develop skills that prepare you for your future career. Have no doubt that our graduates are in high demand across the U.S. and world.

Our research programs are focused on creating and disseminating new knowledge in the environmental sciences. Through integrated, multidisciplinary approaches we strive to develop basic and solution-based science to develop better approaches to management, conservation, and restoration of ecosystems and landscapes. Our faculty and staff are committed to creating the knowledge and educate the future leaders needed to meet society’s needs.

Want to learn more? Explore our website and other information to learn more about the exciting things we are doing. Or better yet, give us a call or stop by for a visit. We would be happy to show you how we can help you prepare for your future.
