Elementary Education
Our elementary education majors learn how to teach multiple subject areas to students in grades K–8. The elementary education Bachelor of Science program works closely with other 果冻传媒麻豆社 colleges to provide graduates a strong background in specific content areas, such as English, social sciences, sciences and mathematics. Students who graduate with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences earn a degree with a focus on learner-centered teaching and learning and earn the institutional recommendation for initial state certification to teach in elementary and middle schools.
Students complete three practicum experiences in elementary classroom settings and a one-semester internship in an elementary or middle school classroom environment, where our pre-service teacher candidates hone their teaching skills under the supervision of experienced mentor teachers and university supervisors.
Teacher certification, a requirement for teaching in a public school, varies in each state. Upon completion of coursework and practicums, and before the one-semester internship, elementary education majors successfully complete certification exams in multiple subject areas that are required by Idaho.
