4-H Horse Program

Youth within the 4-H Horse program learn much more than just equestrian skills. They gain extensive practical management knowledge to insure the appropriate care and well-being of their horse(s). Whether their interest is contests, shows, working ranch or leisure trail riding, we have something for each member.

Building on the special bond between youth and horses, we offer diverse opportunities for members to build citizenship, leadership, communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills. Events like Hippology, Horse Bowl, Horse Judging and Oral Presentations offer fun environments to test their knowledge.

Horse program participants must enroll through 4-H Online and be ages 8 to 18 as of Jan. 1 of the current 4-H program year. There is a non-horse project option for youth who wish to learn about horses that may not own or have access to one.
