Iris is the small farm and horticulture educator for UI Extension, Latah County. This program includes an Idaho Master Gardener program, plant clinic for community pest problems, community garden education series and educational programming for small acreage producers. Beginning in 2019, she is offering a farming education program for U.S. military veterans, now called “Harvest Heroes.” Her doctorate research focused on adult education, use of narrative and pesticide safety education. She recently received a USDA farmers market promotion program grant for the Tuesday Community Market.
