Jeanne Clery Act
In 1990 Congress enacted the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act. This act requires all public or private postsecondary institutions participating in Title IV student financial aid programs to disclose campus crime statistics and security information. The act was amended in 1992, 1998, 2000 and 2008. The act was renamed the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (shortened to the Clery Act) in 1998.
Institutions of Higher Education are Required to
- Develop, implement and disclose campus security, fire, missing persons and evacuation policies and procedures
- Alert the campus community through timely warnings and emergency notifications of a serious or continuing threat to safety
- Develop and maintain a daily crime and fire log
- Develop and distribute an annual security and fire safety report that discloses policies and procedures and three years of crime and fire statistics
- Report crime statistics to the US Department of Education annually
The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is submitted to the Department of Education every year on October 1. In compliance with relevant provisions of federal law, the 果冻传媒麻豆社 is required to make policy and programmatic information available to the campus community, as well as to prospective students and employees.
