Idaho Law: Consent Required
Idaho law requires UAS operators to obtain written consent before conducting any of the below.
- Photograph or Record. Publishing or disseminating a photograph or recording of an individual that was captured via UAS.
- Information Gathering. Conduct surveillance, gather evidence or information about, photograph or record an individual or private property without written consent of the individual or private property owner.
- Idaho Code 21-213. Review for details and exceptions.
UAS Signature Authority
University employees or students are not authorized to sign agreements or permits for the university.
- Signatures. If a signed agreement or permit is required to fly a UAS on a property, include the unsigned document in your application or email it to ored-uas@uidaho.edu.
- Authorized Signers. Agreements or permits are valid only if signed by the VP of Research or a delegate of the VP of Research.
