Electron Microscopy Center

Capabilities include a variety of analytical tools: SEM, TEM, X-ray Microanalysis, Powder XRD, Polarized and Fluorescence Light Microscopy. Sample preparation includes carbon & noble-metal coaters and a critical point dryer.

Ground-Based LiDAR System

Managed jointly with the College of Natural Resources, we offer high-precision terrain mapping with a Leica ScanStation 2 terrestrial laser scanner, high-performance field laptop, tripods, HDS targets, and more.

Mineral and Volcanic Glass Separation Laboratory

McClure Hall
Managed by the Tectonics & Basin Analysis Group, this laboratory's capabilities include state-of-the-art microscopy, density and magnetic separation, acid abrasion, soil water extraction, and sample crushing, sieving, cleaning, weighing, and drilling.
