How to Pay
Advanced Opportunities
Beginning on July 1, 2016, the Advanced Opportunities program provides every student attending an Idaho public school an allocation of $4,625 to use towards taking advanced course work and approved exams while in grades 7-12. The program was expanded by the Legislature in 2016 through the passing of House Bill 458.
- If a student uses Advanced Opportunities funding to pay their tuition, they are subject to the rules set forth by that program.
- Advanced Opportunities funding is available to most students to pay for tuition. It is the student’s responsibility to request funding in the Advanced Opportunities portal.
- Charges not allowed by Advanced Opportunities are the responsibility of the student. If the student neglects to apply for Advanced Opportunities funds, runs out of funds, or has a hold for prior course failure/incompletion, they will be billed.
- Charges not allowed by Advanced Opportunities must be paid on or before the term fee deadline. (See U of I Dual Credit website for specific deadlines)
- Students are responsible to meet college deadlines.
- Drop and withdrawal options are available to dual credit students under the deadlines posted on the U of I Dual Credit website.
- U of I tuition/fee refund policies apply to dual credit students regardless of who paid for the class (3rd party pay such as Advanced Opportunities or self-pay)
Private Schools
Private School students must submit payment for each dual credit course the same as is listed above, to avoid late payment fees.
The Student Opportunities Assistance Program (SOAP)
SOAP is a non-public school program by Advanced Opportunities. Students not attending an Idaho public school in grades 7-12 may be eligible for a $2,500 reimbursement of approved college course costs, taken for dual credit and/or specified exams.
Students are responsible for any additional fees
All Dual Credit students will receive billing notification sent to their Vandal email account. Parents, guardians or others needing copies of the billing statement will request this information from the student. If eligible, the Advanced Opportunities program can cover $75.00 per credit, but students are responsible for any additional fees associated with the course, such as: lab and online fees; books; supplies; and non-course related fees, such as transportation to and from college. Advanced Opportunities allocates $4,625 per student.
Only high school students who are State of Idaho residents are eligible to take dual credit courses at the reduced rate of $75 per credit. Non-resident high school students are subject to the regular tuition and fee charges for undergraduate students, including non-resident tuition. Tuition and fee charges for the current term can be found on the Student Accounts & Cashier’s Office Tuition and Fee Schedule page.
*Please note that students taking dual credit courses in the summer term are charged the full per credit tuition instead of the $75 per credit tuition.
Payment schedule for Dual Credit students
Students on Campus
For Dual Credit students taking courses on the U of I campus, any balance remaining after Advanced Opportunities payments are posted will need to be paid by the 10th day of the semester to avoid a late payment fee. A $100 late payment fee is charged on accounts beginning on the 11th day of the term if your account balance is greater than $300.00, or if you have not signed up for a payment plan. See the Late Fee Schedule for additional possible late fees.
Students at High School
For Dual Credit students taking courses at their high school, any balance remaining after Advanced Opportunities payments are posted will need to be paid within 10 days of the start of your class to avoid a late payment fee. A $100 late payment fee is charged on accounts beginning on the first of each month, starting in October for fall and in March for spring if your account balance is greater than $300.00, or if you have not signed up for a payment plan. See the Late Fee Schedule for additional possible late fees.
NOTE: Failure to receive a bill does not relieve students from their payment responsibilities.
IMPORTANT: Student registration is not canceled for non-payment.
Once registered, all students can log in to their MyUI account to view charges and make payment. (The university will need up to 2 weeks to process Advanced Opportunities payments to your student account.)
- Do NOT use a mobile device or tablet, as the page typically does not display properly, or at all.
- Using Internet Explorer or Google Chrome as your web browser works the best. Other web browsers, including Safari and Firefox, will NOT work.
- Your pop-up blocker needs to be turned off for a new tab to open for the payment system.
- If you used the back button on your browser at any time, you will be taken to a screen asking for your login and password. This login will NOT work. If this happens, you must log out of MyUI and log back in, or reboot your computer.
If a student’s tuition bill is not covered by Advanced Opportunities (also called Fast Forward) funds and exceeds $300 for a term, they may request a payment plan through U of I Student Accounts. This option is available only for the term in which a student is currently enrolled, and only if all outstanding fees from previous terms have been paid.
The 果冻传媒麻豆社 offers payment plans to students unable to pay in full by the payment deadlines. The payment plan requires an enrollment fee of $55 for each semester. Fall semester payment plans can be set up for 4 monthly payments beginning in August for on-campus students and for 3 monthly payments beginning in September for students taking courses at their high school. Spring semester payment plans can be set up for 4 monthly payments beginning in January for all Dual Enrolled students. Summer semester payment plans can be set up for 4 monthly payments beginning in early-May for all Dual Enrolled students.
