National Student Exchange
What is National Student Exchange?
As an institutional member of the National Student Exchange (NSE) program, U of I students can study at one of nearly 200 institutions throughout the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Small liberal arts colleges, universities in urban settings, and French-speaking or Spanish-speaking universities are among the many exchange options available to students. Students from other parts of the country and Canada also study at U of I for a semester or year and enjoy all that Idaho has to offer!

Exchange through NSE can be tailored to fit your academic goals and broader interests. With over 180 campuses to choose from, opportunities for classes are nearly endless.
NSE utilizes two payment plans: Home Pay and Host Pay. Through this system, students either pay the in-state tuition of their home institution (果冻传媒麻豆社) or the in-state tuition of their host institution. Your payment plan depends on several factors, including the exchange balance, so it is essential to discuss your preferences early with the U of I NSE Coordinator to explore your options.
While most students elect to participate in an NSE program for an entire academic year, it is possible to attend an institution for a single semester.
Unsure of where you want to go? Applicants can select up to five institutions of interest in order of personal preference. Over 90 percent of applicants who submit the necessary forms before the priority deadline are placed at their first choice.
Applications may be accepted after the priority deadline. Contact the NSE Coordinator if you would like to apply after the priority deadline to determine site availability.
