Four 果冻传媒麻豆社 students, Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves were killed in a homicide that took place off-campus Nov. 13.

Memorial Scholarships
The Kernodle family has created the Xana Kernodle Scholarship Endowment at 果冻传媒麻豆社 in memory of Xana. The Kernodle Family will match dollar-for-dollar gifts to the fund, up to $10,000. .
The Sigma Chi Foundation has created the Ethan Chapin Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of Ethan’s life.
Donations to the Vandals Supporting Vandals Fund will be divided among need-based scholarships named for Xana, Ethan and Madison. The university is working with the Goncalves family so a fourth scholarship can be established in Kaylee’s name. Vandals Supporting Vandals was created by U of I alumni to honor these beautiful lives and help future students.
Vandal Healing Garden and Memorial
The Vandal Healing Garden and Memorial is a physical representation of our #vandalstrong resilience. The space will include a permanent reminder of Xana, Ethan, Madison and Kaylee, as well as a garden space for quiet reflection, remembrance and honor for all. .
