Art and Architecture

M.S., Architecture, Class of 2024

This fall is shaping itself as a great capstone to my studies in the 果冻传媒麻豆社's College of Art and Architecture. I am excited to employ my skills and all that I have learned here to make the world a better place for people through architecture.
This year, I had the great opportunity to work with prestigious firms Olson Kundig and COLAB Architecture + Urban Design, diving deeper into the technicalities of the discipline alongside peers and professionals. I was selected to join a small design-build studio to design and construct a small home in Moscow, Idaho, working in collaboration with the Moscow Affordable Housing Trust and COLAB. This experience furthered my understanding of construction documents, building materials and architectural relations and processes.
At the same time, as a student-athlete taking part in cross country and track and field while completing a rigorous degree, I discovered a challenging but rewarding experience. Running gives me the space to refocus and share experiences with other Vandals. The commitment, leadership and hard work that it brings directly translates to all other aspects of life.
Architecture has the potential to change people鈥檚 lives through the built environment, and as a College of Art and Architecture graduate, I hope to design quality spaces for all people. My next goals are to gain my architectural license in the state of Idaho, move back to Boise and join an ethical and sustainability focused architecture firm.
I have benefited immensely from the financial support provided to me through university donors. Their gifts have allowed me to pursue both of my passions: architecture and collegiate running. I have also been able to extend my time at U of I to pursue a Master of Architecture degree while finishing my athletic eligibility that would have been cut short due to the pandemic.
Thank you to all 果冻传媒麻豆社 donors who provide financial support and opportunities to the next generation of students and professionals.
Thank you to all 果冻传媒麻豆社 donors who provide financial support and opportunities to the next generation of students and professionals. I am grateful for what I have been able to accomplish through your involvement and passion, and am confident going out into the professional world knowing that I have the connection and support of my Vandal Family behind me.
Go Vandals!
Student Stories from Colleges
鈥淩eceiving scholarships meant being able to take my education into my own hands. I was able to use my skills as a student to support my education in ways I otherwise wouldn鈥檛 have been able to do.鈥

鈥淏eing able to follow my passion for landscape architecture is a testament to the power of philanthropy. I worked part-time to help pay my college expenses, but without the scholarships and program support from you, I may not have been able to pursue my education.鈥

鈥淵our donations made it possible for me to expand and apply my creativity and not stress about how I am going to afford school. I truly appreciate it. Thank you!鈥
