1 of 4: (1 of 4) John C. Olmsted presented his plan for the 果冻传媒麻豆社 campus to U of I President McLean in 1908. The Olmsteds were known for pedestrian-centric, natural oases in American urban environments and John鈥檚 design for our campus was no exception. Anticipating future growth both of our university and our community, Mr. Olmsted ensured future Vandals would be inspired by natural beauty every time they walked to class.
2 of 4: (2 of 4) True to the Olmsted Brothers鈥� vision, the heart of our campus is reserved for walking, bicycling, boarding and other modes of transportation free of internal combustion engines. Remember that Vandals who are walking set the pace, so if you鈥檙e on wheels, slow to a walking pace and navigate carefully to your destination.
