Electronic Proposal Submission
The is used to create proposal applications and provides a convenient way to upload attachments related to the development of a proposal in such a way that everyone involved has access and can contribute to proposal development. VERAS has a built-in system-to-system submission portal for the submission of proposals through Grants.gov, which reduces the rejection of proposals due to missing or incorrect information or files and improper schema formatting.
Note that certain agencies, such as the National Science Foundation (NSF), NASA, and the Department of Energy (DOE) have their own proposal submission portals and do not utilize the VERAS system-to-system portal.
Access to VERAS and other useful tools are available on the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) home page.
All grant proposals, regardless of submission method, must be routed through VERAS for chair, dean/director, and OSP review and approval prior to submission. If proposal submission to the sponsoring agency is completed electronically, either the PI or OSP will be responsible for the final submission to the agency. Please work with your sponsored programs administrator to ensure the proposal is submitted appropriately.
