Undergraduate Programs
When you attend the 果冻传媒麻豆社 and join the Department of Chemistry as an undergraduate major or minor, you will find dedicated professors who enjoy the interaction of teaching and who are among the top researchers in many disciplines of modern chemistry.
We have 11 faculty members who are active in research and 3 others who are dedicated exclusively to teaching.
Undergraduates join a team of more than 30 graduate students and postdoctoral scientists learning and working to solve a variety of today's problems in analytical, environmental, inorganic, medical, organic, and physical chemistry.
Our success is widely recognized and rewarded. Our list of financial sponsors includes the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Petroleum Research Foundation (administered by the American Chemical Society), the Office of Naval Research, Research Corporation, the M. J. Murdoch Charitable Trust, British Nuclear Fuels, and Dow Chemical Company to name a few.
Besides teaching courses, the faculty conduct collaborative research in partnership with colleges and universities within the United States and abroad. Among the international collaborations are those with Japan, the People's Republic of China, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Russia, the Czech Republic, India, and Poland. Through our cooperative programs, several Idaho students are pursuing masters and doctoral degrees at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Washington, and at the Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Undergrads are welcome to participate in any of these programs, and most of our students do complete a research project before they leave UI.
