Recreation, Sport, and Tourism Management (RSTM)

By choosing the bachelors of science in recreation from the 果冻传媒麻豆社, you will be prepared to enter a career designed to encourage healthy active lifestyles. As a graduate, you will have the opportunity for increased personal and professional quality of life and be prepared for a wide array of recreation, park and tourism positions. Alumni find leadership and management jobs in the recreation field such as being a commercial recreation outfitter and guide, special events coordinator, fitness club or sports facility manager, or a director of recreation for a campus, city or summer camp. The U of I Recreation, Sport, and Tourism Management Program is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professionals.

With Idaho鈥檚 scenic recreation and outstanding outdoor resources, it is among the best settings to earn a degree. Moscow and the surrounding areas have consistently been ranked among the best places to live in the U.S. by media outlets including Outdoor Life, Outside Magazine, ABC News, Mother Earth News and Businessweek. Within an hour of Moscow, you will find rivers for fishing, boating and white-water rafting, wilderness for hiking and camping and mountains for skiing.

Overview of Program

The 果冻传媒麻豆社 is the state’s oldest, constitutionally mandated, land-grant institution. All of our regional, national and specialized accreditations are recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (). In addition to the above specialized accreditations, the 果冻传媒麻豆社 also is regionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities ().

Accreditation provides an indication that your degree is not a product of a degree mill. According to the CHEA, “Degree mills and accreditation mills mislead and harm. In the U.S., degrees and certificates from mills may not be acknowledged by other institutions when students seek to transfer or go to graduate school. Employers may not acknowledge degrees and certificates from degrees mills when providing tuition assistance for continuing education. “Accreditation” from an accreditation mill also can mislead students and the public about the quality of an institution. The Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (COAPRT) accredits baccalaureate programs in parks, recreation, tourism, sport management, event management, therapeutic recreation, and leisure studies offered at regionally accredited institutions within the United States and its territories, and at nationally accredited institutions in Canada, and Mexico.
