Research Conflicts of Interest

Some federal agencies require Significant Financial Interest (SFI) disclosures. The SFI disclosure must be completed before the proposal may be submitted.

  • An overview of the SFI disclosure requirements is below. For more details, review FSH 5600 "Research Conflicts of Interest."
  • Only "Investigators" submit SFI disclosures. An Investigator is the PI, Co-PI, or someone responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of the research project. The PI is one who decides who is an Investigator.
  • A negative disclosure is required. If an Investigator has no SFI's to report indicate this in the disclosure. Instructions on how to submit a disclosure are under "Disclosure Instructions."
  • Contact 208-885-6162 or uifcoi@uidaho.edu with questions.

NOTENASA's disclosure requirements went into effect on Dec. 1, 2023 for new proposals. Proposals funded before Dec. 1, may be amended at the discretion of the NASA contracting officer to require SFI disclosures.
