Scholarships

Thanks to the generous support of numerous individual and organizational donors and benefactors, students in the College of Natural Resources have access to more than 80 scholarships.

New Students

New students are considered for all merit- and need-based scholarships as well as all federal financial aid if you submit all your application materials, including the FAFSA application, to Undergraduate Admissions. Applications and scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis as they are received. Qualifying new students who miss this date can still be awarded Go Idaho, Discover Idaho or Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) upon admission to U of I. ¹û¶³´«Ã½Â鶹Éç admissions and financial aid for more information.

Current Students

Scholarships for students continuing study in the College of Natural Resources are typically based on merit (GPA, SAT/ACT scores), financial need or a combination of both. Most scholarships for continuing students are offered by individual programs within the college and may be based on factors such as academic major or future career plans. Some individual program scholarships require you to submit supporting documentation, such as a resume and statement of career interests. In addition, you must annually submit an up-to-date FAFSA form with the university to be eligible for scholarships requiring proof of financial need.

Special Application Scholarships

Two continuing student scholarships are offered through the College of Natural Resources Dean’s Office for which continuing students must apply for consideration.

  1. Brent ‘Jake’ Jacobson Scholarship – For students seeking a career as a conservation officer.
  2. Monnett Scholarship – For continuing students who meet the following criteria:
    • Undergraduate with a major in the College of Natural Resources
    • Minimum sophomore standing or will have sophomore standing by the following fall semester. ( A student who has successfully completed a minimum of 26 semester credits has achieved sophomore standing.)
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3
    • Financial need as determined by the FAFSA

Notification of when to apply for these two scholarships will be sent to all natural resource undergraduates in January.
